About this Blog

Hello and welcome to my brain blog.  This is a blog about neurology, neuroscience, brain injury, and chronic pain from a patient's perspective.  Before I was born I suffered intrauterine hypoxia.  My brain as starved of oxygen due to the umbilical cord becoming tangled around my throat while still in the breach position, before the cord prolapsed - causing me to be strangled.  This left me with permanent brain damage particular affecting the use of my right side.  I would later develop fibromyalgia affecting my legs and spine.  It would also be suggested that my symptoms fit a much debated condition called Geschwind Syndrome which stems from damage to the temporal lobe of the brain.  Two of the markers are particularly relevant - hypergraphia, which I have suffered from for years, and what is termed an 'intensified mental life'.  This blog documents these and many other aspects and situations which stem from my somewhat wonky brain.
